(External Noise Intrusion, Transmission of Noise between Rooms, Noise Control in Buildings)

1. verification of compliance with requirements of Building Code of Australia (BCA) - assessment of transmission of noise between adjacent dwellings;

 
2. verification of compliance with recommendations of Australian/New Zealand Standard: Acoustics - Recommended design sound levels and reverberation times for building interiors (AS/NZS 2107:2000);

 
3. assessments of proposed construction sites exposed to aircraft noise - assessments in terms of Australian Standard: Acoustics - Aircraft noise intrusion - Building siting and construction (AS 2021: 2000);

 
4. assessments of proposed construction sites exposed to road traffic noise - assessments in terms of Australian Standard: Acoustics - Road traffic noise intrusion - Building siting and construction (AS 3671: 1989);

8. scanning of walls, windows, doors, ceilings and floors to discover areas of noise penetration - control of noise transmitted between adjacent rooms, control of intrusion of external noise and control of noise escaping from clubs, discotheques and pubs;

 
9. in situ determination of airborne sound insulation:        
(a) of building elements and
(b) between rooms:
- measurements according to ISO 15186-1:2000 - Acoustics: Measurements of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements using sound intensity; and
- based on these measurements, calculations of the Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) (replacement of Sound Transmission Class - STC) according to Australian/New Zealand Standard: Acoustics - Rating of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements - Part 1: Airborne sound insulation (AS/NZS 1276.1:1999 and ISO717-1:1996).
